COVID-19 Safety Procedures
While providing floatation therapy and more to New York City, we wanted to take the time to outline some of our office procedures here at Infinity Float NYC for handling COVID-19 to make sure that all of our members feel comfortable in our space and while utilizing our services. We take this issue very seriously and want to take all the necessary steps to ensure a healthy, clean environment for our employees and members to feel welcome and relaxed.
All Employees Must:
Wash or sanitize hands after any un-sanitized surface contact
Use PPE provided by the employer to cover nose, mouth and eyes.
Self-monitor for symptoms and to not report to work if the symptoms are present.
Post-appointment Care:
Enable contactless payment solutions to be the default method of payment to limit any physical contact with the employees and reception area.
Clinic Cleaning:
Ensure there is enhanced cleaning of all office areas, treatment rooms and waiting areas — this includes high-touch surfaces, resident rooms and washrooms.
Use EPA approved disinfectants for the appropriate length of time (each disinfectant has its own guideline on contact length of time to kill the virus).
Safety within the float suites
Our floats utilize UV (ultraviolet), ozone treatment and Epsom salt, the UV and ozone run constantly when the float suites are not in use, and all the water is filtered through our purification systems three and a half times between sessions. UV, ozone and Epsom salt are powerful antimicrobials. Here’s a brief summary of why we chose these methods for a pristine experience.
Ozone: Ozone is 50 times more powerful then chlorine (ozone kills bacteria 3,000 times faster than chlorine). Ozone eliminates viruses, bacteria and mold / yeast. Ozone treatment also leaves zero odor, and reverts to pure oxygen, leaving no trace.
Ultraviolet (UV): Pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and molds / yeast have a very low tolerance for UV rays. UV works to purify by damaging cellular DNA—when anything undesirable in the pod meets these purifying rays, they are killed. UV treatment protects against viruses (including Hepatitis, which is resistant to chlorine), molds and bacterium’s.
Epsom Salt: Each Float suite contains 1,200 lbs. of Epsom Salt—making for a solution that is nearly 100% sterile right from the start! There’s so much salt in each pod that if we added much more the water would actually start to crystallize.
We have taken an extra precaution by utilizing a high powered steam cleaner to sanitize all points of contact within the float suite.
